The handbrake has been difficult to apply since I had it adjusted, but once on has held. I've usually found that if it wont go on first time, I move the car forward a tiny bit & it goes on without any problems. However today whilst stopped at traffic lights, took my foot off the brake & THUNK, handle just about hits the floor & now sat at red, no brakes applied and cars behind me! Foot went back on foot brake very fast.I think I'll be having a trip to Smart of Stockton very soon.

I don't think the cable has snapped - yet. I didn't havemuch trouble today with it, apart from the odd time it wouldn't apply & the time it did with a very loud bang but it stayed on. The problem is intermittment but getting worse - either that or I am gettingmore & more annoyed about it. Is it possible that the cable could have been overtightened? I will be ringingSmart tomorrow, see if I can book the car in for Saturday morning.

If your handbrake doesn't apply easily with three clicks it aint right!! it's that simple. it shouldn't bang, clunk or make any funny noises!!!

And after booking it in, it is now behaving perfectly! The weather has also changed. I wonder if the hot weather's had something to do with it. There's still tomorrow yet though.
