engine check light

The engine check light has lit up on 4-2! It seems to be running fine, any ideas, the manual says go to a smart dealer, but I'm going on holiday on saturday and I would really like to sort it myself if I can. any help would be appreciated!!!:sad:

O K, after trying the old "disconnect the battery trick" the light has gone out! Will find out tomorrow if it stays out!!!:rotate:

well if it does go off chuffer then i what to do is get it to someone wi a fault code reader or an xgauge and that will tell you the problem

failing that get to smartbeat i will be there and can help ya!!

So far OK, drove to work this morning, no light. Been touching wood all morning!!!!!!
Might think about an x gauge. {how much are they?}
