I believe there was/is an option when buying a smart to add an alarm. Does anyone know if these can be bought and retro-fitted? Big job? Expensive? Can it be done at home, or does Smart need to be involved for re-programming of something? etc?
lol sammy has the answer
there about £300 from smart not sure if can be retrofitted BUT, a company called VTECH up the road from me can do a cat one for about £160 and a lifetime warrenty

Does it need to be an alarm or would a cat 2 thatcham immobiliser be good enough for them??
I ask cos we are now installing one that is undetectable and is only able to be turned off by someone who knows where a point is in the car ie the tech who fits it, you & anyone you tell!
Might have seen it on the RAC stand at the Motor Show on a Smart, pants place, Paul was the only person to find it but did so in under 5 mins!

its something i would always like doing, but i checked up here and there are no auto elec courses running
