It's slowly dawning on people that you won't get a true viewpoint of the situation.
For one , you'll have to leave this poll running for a year at least to try and catch a few people...

but even then , you've getting a restricted view of the whole market
Not everyone knows what a website is and also every owner doesn't visit any of the smart club sites daily/weekly or even more. and even then you'll get some people who can't be bothered ticking a poll option and pressing enter

So, smarts out last their owners - or do we need another poll?

Smart car - has your driver died or in need of a rebuild?

Lol I was sneakily keeping check. I saw you were online a few times, actually quite a few, but didn't post anything so was sure you were around

Nothing gets by you does it Maggsy Boy?

But you're right - and I didn't like being one of the voyeurs - you know - the ones that read everyone elses view points but won't contribute with any of their own. Hell, won't even participate in a poll..
Nah, don't like voyeurs. Join in or fvck off is what I say..

Cue a response from the missing 4570....

103500 miles with original clutch and turbo before changing to brabus engine and clutch. No brabus injectors though.

Ive just had to rebuild mine 60500 miles, after it stopped working completely.

The bores were smooth on all 3 cylinders and cylinder 2 had stuck piston rings. The valves were not burnt out, although they did have a lot of depostits on them - it took 2 hours of gentle Dremmling to clean them up.

The bearings were as good as new (still plenty of white metal and no scoring) but i replaced them anyway while the engine was open.

    Hi there,

I have a 61bhp 698cc Smart Pure on an 03 plate and I've just had to have an engine rebuild done at 69500 miles. It was using a lot of oil, a litre every 300 miles or so; it also needed a new water pump and clutch adjustment.
Mike Fudge at fudgesmart - http://www.fudgesmart.co.uk/ did the work. He collected and delivered the car back to me here in London. His quality of service, his technical knowledge and the quality of his work are all first class. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He even did an engine remap and it now delivers 76bhp - it feels as though I have a 'new' car! All of this for an affordable price - not outrageously expensive and certainly cheaper than buying a newer Smart!
I hope this adds polish to his already glistening halo!
