    smart car brakes fault HELP

    hi everyone my brother has just brought a smart car 52 reg but since buying it a couple of days ago he has noticed a fault with the braking it had new discs and pads ect in march but sometimes when you brake it makes a humming noise and seems like the brakes aunt working properly and last for about 10 secs but when the noise goes the brakes are fine i was wondering if anyone knows wht this could be any help please post thanks smart23

    could be just the ABS kicking in? - either normally (lack of grip) or due to a fault or even worn tyre(s)

    Can you feel the "humming" or pulsing through the pedal ?

    hi yes you can feel it come through the pedal and the tyres have plenty of tread on them do u know what else it could be thanks for your help

    If you're confident the tyres are good could well be corroded rear reluctor rings

    Try a search on here for this common problem on older cars

    Warped discs??

    Check suspension springs!

    Then Get used to the sarcastic ramblings of those who can't be wrong - haha!!

    OEM pads can delaminate too, causing judder.
