Right this is getting beyond a joke now i have sent digitec also known as smart-stuff.co.uk several emails for a update on my order made on the 17th of december 2011!
    With no reply from them!
I rang today first person said they would call me back in a hour when they have found out what is happening still waiting for that call
i rang them back after an hour and a half spoke to another person they said the same thing still waiting for that call now!
All i will say is this company is a joke i paid them over 500 for a part on the 17th of december and they have not even updated me on where my part is or when i should expect it!!!
i only ordered from them because they came highly recommended on here what a big mistake that was!!

If its a specialist part, they will have to order from merc.

Don't bother emailing them! Just keep calling and speak to Kate!

Just to update I cancelled my order yesterday as I read in their T&C's I was able to do. I wanted the bits as I was going on a short holiday & I've found them local to me & I still hadn't heard anything about my order. I am still waiting for it or any message from them. I called yesterday & the woman on the phone said her boss would have to authorise a refund. Still waiting. I'm beginning to think I've got a battle on to get my refund, but I paid on my card & I think my bank can get it back. Maybe I jumped the gun, but my point is if I knew I was facing a 3 week+ wait for my order I would have bought elsewhere. I know what it's like being a family business, I work for ours & the lack of communication is probably what has caused problems. For the best part of 2 weeks I kept checking to see if I had missed a delivery.

I ordered a genuine Smart Keyring from them back in December last year, I also unfortunately got to the stage of having to get in touch with Smart Stuff to find out where my order was after hearing nothing for three weeks. To their credit I emailed them chasing my purchase and received a reply back within 3/4 hours explaining my keyring had just landed from Germany and they would turn it around as quick as they could, I received it two days later.

What I struggle with is companies not updating their customers who have placed orders with them, there really isn't an excuse. In a world whereby we can all have a rant on an internet forum you would think that keeping in touch with your customers is vital to making Smart Stuff a success. More good reviews means more orders from people on the forum, surely.

I am looking to order a Cruise Control stalk from my ForTwo Cabriolet and was going to place my order with Smart Stuff however I think I may just have a look about and see where else I can place my order in the back of this thread.

@ Jedigav - refunds take 3-5 days to show on your account and the refund was done yesterday afternoon when I got back from dealing with builders! Your parts were here, as Gemma told you they were packed ready to go when you called to cancel!

@antmax - I don't know who you are please email me direct (kate@ ) and I will look into it.

We had a huge delivery on Tuesday and a few more bits today a lot of which has been orders for bits which have been ordered over Christmas & have had to come from Germany. Bear in mind we run a busy garage 1st & foremost so have come back from Christmas break to a bunch of cars left by AA/RAC which have taken up a fair amount of time and the 4 of us are running around like headless chickens right now! New member of staff will be in the workshop at the end of the month which will free Paul back up to help Gemma & I pick, pack & sort orders.

New members joining and having a rant at a respected supplier seems a little supicious to me....anyone else think it could be a competitor?
The location "United Kingdom" or "In The Hills" is hardly informative!

@ Nick_Johnson.....it took Merc here in Norway almost 3 months to sort us a new key out (we bought it from then 2nd hand, but with only 1 key)....and then the car had to be transported back to Oslo (8 hours away, so we were without the car for 3 days!) for it to be coded!!!

Like I said before, Kate sorted ME out with an order that no other dealer in the UK wanted to touch, due to it having to be sent abroad....I support them.

Well I started the thread & it seems I might have stirred a hornet's nest up. I know I'm a new member but i'm also a new smart owner. I don't want to keep beating the same drum, but I think it should be made clear on the site how long you may have to wait for an order. To be fair, it does state the delivery schedule to be 7-10 working days which my order was over. I don't want to fall out with anybody, i'm not trolling, or a rival company.

Kate thanks for your reply, but I was told on the phone the bits might be in the delivery that had arrived. I've been busy myself having to cancel a holiday due to work & this has just been another thing on my mind. As I'm in & out a lot, I like anything I buy to be sent quickly if I know I will be in, which is why I selected recorded delivery with my order. I certainly don't want to damage anyone's business or reputation & i'm sure smartstuff are a reputable company to buy from. It seems I may have placed an order at the worst possible time.Sorry if I have upset anyone, but I assumed when I placed the order the bits were on the shelf in stock.

Phoned again today no joy as ever!
Alarm bells are ringing because i have lost over 600 due to companys selling car parts/modifications in the past!
Love the quote from one of the owners in this thread
"@antmax - I don't know who you are please email me direct (kate@ ) and I will look into it."

Just goes to show how unorganised the company is.
The smaller they are the easier it should be for them to keep on top of orders.
kate i will email you shortly that will make 5 emails in the past week and a half and 7 phone calls

    BUT....

2 business strands (smart parts and garage)

high demand for services (smart parts & garage)

have you used your username antmax in your correspondence with them? prob not. thats why kate doesn't know who you are..... (i presume)

they are a reputable company and you won't be losing your money
