    My Brabus viewing

Hi, i got a phone call from the salesman to say my car had been delivered today so I went up for a quick look before I get it on Friday.

I gotta say I'm well pleased with it.

It has the sat nav with the USB connection that I was unsure of, ungraded sound system, heated electric mirrors, LED running lights and the new shape of wheels.

    Can't wait to get it.

I can tell your getting very excited (as I would be too) but in the heat of the moment you could just sign the forms then drive off. DO NOT DO THIS!!!

Dont wanna pour cold water on your new purchase BUT:-

    1. Have a very good look around the car and ensure that everything is as it should be ie:- no loose trim, dents or scratches, scuffed wheels etc.

    2. Insist you drive it (with the salesman sat in it too) and look out for it pulling to the left or right when braking and that everything works as it should. Try every switch button etc. No rattles or funny noises or weird smells.

    3. ONLY WHEN ALL THESE HAVE CHECKED BY YOURSELF, sign the form.

All this I read in Auto Express before I took delivery of my brand new Ford Puma. It was good advise as I found a dent in the drivers door which was fixed before I would sign, fortunetley that was all . BEWARE as the garage will blame you for anything that is not right as soon as you drive it off the forecort!

I sincerely hope everything is good and the car is everything is all you wished for.

    Happy Motoring

Hi mate thanks for the info.

Im a spray painter to trade so I know what to look for and I've bought more than a few new cars in my time. My last one was a Focus RS which I went around with a fine toothcomb. Ended up having a few marks underneath the paint. 3 weeks later I got a replacement car.

The Smart is going straight from Mercedes to my dads garage to get detailed so I'll keep an eye for anything.

    Thanks again.

You're buying a new car this close to a plate change? Why not wait for 10 days or so?

I pick it up at 5pm

I've waited for plate changes in the past but it makes no difference to the sell on price as its still registered in the same year. Plus I've got my private plate to go on it next week.
