i was recommended it by the detailer who i bought my 100 wax from - he said it was kinder on the wax..... but who knows.

its cheaper than car shampoo and not as harsh as fairy liquid

Have heard of this but never tried it.

While I always do my best to understand the chemistry behind the products I use and not knowing the make up of baby lotion, I would hazard a guess that while gentle on your paint, probably not the best cleaning agent, and unlikely to provide sufficient lubrication and suspension of dirt particles while washing.... But im only hazarding a guess

I have just switched supplier for general products like this and very excited about it too! The guy im using is one of the two chemists who formulate the products which satisfies my need to always ask questions about the products

If mods are ok, I will pop a post up reviewing it soon

It cleans pen, mud, sick, poop, food etc off my child so should be ok for dirt struggling to stick to a nice waxy layer

    Plus it's no tears

    I'm confused

are we talking about washing with baby lotion (which i thought was a moisturiser?) or baby shampoo? (great stuff for washing fox poo off dogs!)

What's recommended for a gentle wash that won't strip wax?

Johnson's baby wash/shampoo - apologies for saying lotion (is that the brand?)

After a quick search to educate my feeble brain, it seems Johnson & Johnson do a few products; (hence the confusion!)

Baby Lotion, used for cleaning and moisturising, so probably not good for washing a car, unless you want it slippery!

Baby Oil, great moisturiser, definitely not good for washing cars!

Baby Shampoo, gentle cleanser for hair/body, so sounds like it should be good for washing cars!

to go slightly more conventional, this is what I have just invested in:
    http://www.orchard-autocare.com/PBSC...ItmID=12110586

apart from the fact it is a pure shampoo (no cheap gloss enhancers), and totally LSP/Wax safe, it also dilutes upto 2000:1! that means for a normal bucket you only need 7ml (just over a teaspoon)!! making it great value for money too!

other than that, check out I4D's shampoo selection which you can't normally go wrong with http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/shop/sh...and-mitts.html

In particular the Britemax one gets good reviews!

    Hi mark

Every time you post I get a buzz to clean my car, I make lists of stuff to get, start reading about detailing etc then look outside and realise I can't be bothered. Then it happens all over again. Right now it's got mud all down the sides as I got excited on some wet grass.

    That shampoo looks great though
