    Remap for Roadster

I've got an 04 82 Roadster and I'm contemplating a remap to bump it to 100 or so.

Is this really worth all the hype?

    What are your experiences?

    Thanks

    Check out www.S2Smarts.co.uk

Tune4performance operate from there and offer full rolling road remaps, checking your cars health and pre-map output before proceeding to carryout the mapping process and then provide you a comparison output!

Overall great guys and VERY knowledgeable!

Is it worth the hype - what hype is that?

A bit of a strange question really - do you feel like you want more power? If so then maybe a remap is a good idea. If you don't then it's not.

Remap = Awesome, beware of cheap/old (95hp) maps though (could wear your engine mounts & clutch out in no time). The newest (i.e smoothest) maps are best (to drive & for your car).

Not a strange question at all; either they are worth it or they are not. Does a remap on an 80bhp quench people's power hunger or is it usually a disappointment? - I'm after opinions from those who have had it done and has the experience to share.

If you want a bit more zip then yes they are worth it.
I remapped mine years ago and would not go back to standard map.

Does it quench your power hunger? Well that depends on your expectation.

If you want it to have a little more bite on acceleration and your expectations levels are low - then prepare to be delighted.
If you expect to beat everyone away from the lights and have a 6.x second 0-60 sprint - prepare to be disappointed.

That's the kind of post that I need. What are the typical power outputs after a remap?

There are "off-the-shelf" maps of anything between 90hp to 125hp.
Or you can get it to S2Smarts (where Tune4performance are based) and get a bespoke rolling-road tuned map done to your requirements.

Its a 3 way balancing act between performance, economy and mechanical sympathy.

I contacted Chequered Flag in Strood for a remap and they say their stage 2 remaps will bump original figure by 30% so I am looking at around 105 BHP. - Would these be generic maps or made by the company themselves?

Has anyone had experience with these maps provided by these guys? - They sound extremely friendly.
