Two versions of the Brabus widestar arches.

Brabus made two different versions of the coupe Wide Star arches (and perhaps for the cabrio too?).

One version is about 15mm wider (could easily fit an 8.5" wheel which the other version could not), this arch has a flatter slope as it comes away from the body than the narrower version which is more rounded. Both versions have the usual Brabus logos etc. At the top of the arch the narower version comes away from the body some 110mm , the wider one 130mm.

In my opinion the narrower, rounder ones are better looking.

So why are there two versions and when did they change?

    Cheers!

Maybe , the narrower version are from a widestar aka Black star 600cc type?
And is the wide version a later version , for the 700 type?

Mine widestar arches (copy) are from Michalak.

I don't see why they'd change between engine sizes as it makes no difference.

The wider of the two could fit the rare Brabus 18 x 8.5 as found on the Roadster, makes you wonder if they kept their options open with that one?

    Cheers!

Okay Ossy, you might of cracked the puzzle, I think the narrower version was black gel coat, so perhaps Black Star indeed.

So why is the second version bigger (and not so pretty)?

    Cheers!

Only 1 version on EPC (well 1 coupe), it's listed for the Edition 1 and for those with 17" rears and it's version 1.

Are you sure the others are genuine?

    Hi guys.

I sold the set to Kapt last year and apparently i sold one arch of each sets (version 1 and ultimate 101), however after a close inspection i can confirm they are different, even tough they are both branded by brabus with a proper brabus stamp.

I can also confirm there are two different front spats for smart car. So i guess the late model smarts 450 had one version of the wide kit and the modern ones had a different version. Very strange but its true. Probably its like a face-lifted smarts. Same car with two different shape lights.
They say that Big car = Small penis.
Well I've got a Smart car....
