Blue or grey?
What vehicle is it for?
2001 Jaguar XKR 100
2003 Roadster Coupe Bluewave Brabus SB2
2002 Ex Fortwo Pulse
Smart,Mercedes & Jaguar Diagnostics
It's for my 2005 Fortwo and grey.
I intend making mounting plates that bolt to the steel bodywork behind the original foglight hole in the bodywork so they can be used as a base for brackets to hold conventional fogs / driving lights just for winter months as 75% of my driving is down lanes. I've put up with standard lights on the car for the last 5 years and now is the time to do something about itIdea is come Spring the lights can be removed and blanking plugs put back into the grill. Another idea is a sort of light bar that again uses the same mounting area and though the original fog light apertures. Obviously would need to be easy removable. I was going to make a mock up out of standard steel conduit to see how it looks and then use it as a pattern to be bent out of stainless tube. Can't find anything to give an example of my design but basically imagine a 90 degree bend coming out of the fog light aperture and going downwards to another 90 degree bend that then heads to the other side of the car where two more bends route tube back to the other fog light hole.
I removed front bodywork the other week to change headlight & sidelight bulbs so took the opportunity to make a cardboard template of the mounting plate which will have to be triangular in shape if it is to sit flat. That means a return edge will be required on the long side to make up for a missing 4th locating point.
Cheers.
