    I need a radio for my ForTwo 451 Pure - 2012 model

    Hi all

I've bought yet another Smart (don't ask!) so have 3 at present, however the latest one which I intend to keep for sure is one of the ex-Car2Go ones for a bargain price with only 11k on the clock and in great condition.

The only down side is that it doesn't have a radio although it does have the wiring/speakers etc, but just a blanking plate where the radio would go.

I am not sure what radio I can fit - I don't particularly want/need one of the touch screen/sat nav ones so just a normal radio/CD would be fine but I'm not sure what would be suitable/fit.

    HELP!

Virtually any double din head unit , or with a facia adaptor, virtually any single din head unit.

You may have to reverse the permanent and switched power connections.

Just take the car to any ICE specialist and they'll confirm by taking a quick gander at the connector block

Thanks very much - as I have the 'shaped' aperture rather than straight sides if I went for the double din how would I 'fill' the gaps at each side?

Didn't know there was a shaped side version in the later smarts

    Got a photo ?

EDIT: Seen one now with sloping sides?

Have you actually still got the surround fitted?.. That could well be the right size for a double din screen model anyway... Need to do some measuring
And if you haven't got the surround just get from smart

Can you post a photo of what you have there at the moment?
There are 2 options that I know of but C2G may have a totally different surround.

These are the only photos I have at present - the car's at the back of the carport behind another so I can't take any more photos at the moment.

All we have is a blanking panel with slightly sloping sides, if it had a radio already installed from Smart it would look like this one with the sloping sides and silver trim, the earlier version for Smarts up to 2010 has straight sides and is all black:

The only place I've managed to find with the correct Smart radio for sale (not the touch screen) is in America! Just wondered if there's anywhere in the UK (other than from Smart) where I could either get one of these 'proper' radios, or what I could fit instead and exactly what kit I'd need.

The lowline stereo looks a similar shape but it actually goes right to the top of that dash overhang so I don't think it'll fit in that surround. You can of course just buy the proper surround from smart.
