Original Smart 450 radio antenna 55 cm

I have been driving around with a DIY antenna made out of haywire for a few years.

Perhaps someone has replaced his or hers with a shorter antenna and is willing to part with the long original Smart antenna for a small fee?

Must be the original 55 cm long antenna because anything else is no good up here due to poor radio reception.

I see lots of aftermarket bee sting antennas on ebay starting from just under three Pounds. Full length antennas cost a lot more and in 55 cm there is only one or two.

Have you enquired how much from your local Smart dealer? Merc parts from the dealer can be quite cheap, to paraphrase some previous posts.... lol

I was hoping someone would give me one they no longer need. Of course I could wait until Lidl has them on a special buy.

A kind member sent me a used antenna for 5. Regrettably this one turned out to be no good because the M5 screw at bottom was missing.

Bought a 3 China antenna on Ebay which only lasted a couple of months. Really poor reception even when new. Broke in two a few days ago.

Have now bought an original Smart antenna from Smart/ Mercedes in Aberdeen. Part number A4519051100. Price paid 14.69 inclusive of VAT. That is 2.43 cheaper than Smart-Stuff!

You would have been as well buying a shovel to pick up the sh1t broadcast on radio.
