Studying TK's photos - I'd say ACW to open. Which correlates with (assumed) use of boost (no vac on a diesel) to enable operation.

ACW? American Creosote Works? Anglican Church Women? Art Council of Wales?

Well something is wrong. The wastegate adjuster was pretty much as Tolson's with about an inch or so of unused thread before the end of the arm. I unfastened the nut and screwed it all the way to the end of that inch (to the right on T pic. I was able to move the wastegate right up to the nut and it just about felt as though it was touching something. I left it like that and brought the lock nut up to meet it and it just about doubled the amount of boost I can get.

I am sure I understand it correctly, clockwise to open, anticlockwise to shut but it seems that either the wastegate push rod is too short or the actuator is too far away or there is something else amiss inside the manifold. My arm is at about 5 oclock , T's is at about 7 oclock.

I am aware that there has been a mod at some stage because this actuator got too hot so they moved it a bit with a change of bracket.

But he is using compressed air. I thought it was vacuum operated.

Actuator uses boost pressure. Wastegate opens when actuator rod extends.

No idea, I can't see much of it, it's a feely touchy job.
