    Servicing gadget

I have used a suitable light wood working clamp in the past. These are more high tech.

The white channel clips are made from rectangular ventilation duct cut to suit and sharp edges rounded off.
    Only works with luggage cover.

Three pin plug powers my much coveted oil pan heater.

The hole in each clip is for hanging tidily off nails knocked into wall in my work shop.

Bungee chord round the seat belt works well on a 450, I had one there permanently. It doesn't work on a 451 though, I am still perusing a solution for that.

Move passenger seat fully forward and stuff the carpet behind it. Simplest solution.

I have seen fools do that. Not advisable as foam under carpet is likely to crack and split.

It cracks on the designated fold line by your method anyway. The crack closes when the carpet is flat again.
If you want to call me a fool I'll give you 500 better reasons to do so.

My 451 is cracked all the way along. This is because it has been folded to tuck behind the seats.

Even doing that the hatch si not clear enough to get the forward edge and as I have a replacement carpet that is not cracked I need a better way. My best idea so far is to put a hook where my dash cam is on the head lining and fasten to that.

There is no foam under the carpet on the 450, it is felt which is much much better than the foam they fit on the 451.
