    Speed in reverse.

My 451 CDI is limited to 10 mph going backwards. I am sure it wasn't always like this or was it?

My 450 is limited. Doubt that smart removed the limiter for 451.

Hmm, my petrol 450 wasn't other than the red line of the engine.

Seems lots of software changed over the years of 450 production. Mine is nearly one of the last. Maybe earlier models didn't have limiters. Once a safety feature is introduced though, it's seldom dropped.

Safety feature? My drive is 60 metres long and at 10 MPH I am nearly asleep by the time I reach the top.

Buy yourself a DAF. You can then drive as fast in reverse as forward.
    Drives a Smart Cdi - 65 to 85 MPG
