There's worse.
I've just gone and bought a 2500kg truck based thing built in 1999 with a 5.7l V8 running on LPG to replace my fortwo which has become too unreliable to be trusted for what I need a car for. Why? Because anything else available within my budget would have the potentially big bills without any warning that cars built with minimising CO2 have. Failed dual mass flywheels, EGR, etc, etc and that's before considering the ridiculous amount of unreliable electronics.
My new acquisition is simple (electronics are no more than is necessary for efficient operation of engine and transmission and ABS), rugged (this thing takes a lot to break it) and simple to work on as spacious (I can remove and replace the sump without having to raise its wheels off the ground). Not what the government or Greta wanted me to do but as I have to remain mobile (for work) and it's me paying for the repairs....
