Question Air Bag Warning Light After Seat Re-install

I removed the passenger seat (LHD car) following these instructions

    https://www.evilution.co.uk/interior...at_removal.htm

When I reconnected the air bag I forgot to disconnect the battery (although the ignition was off), and I connected it differently to the colour coding advice:

The seat airbag connections can be plugged in either way around so check your wiring.

    Drivers Seat:
    Violet/White to Brown
    Violet/Green Blue

    Passenger Seat:
    Violet/Yellow to Brown
    Violet/Grey to Blue
I now have a warning light

I disconnected the battery and changed the orientation of the connector but this has made no difference

I can't believe orientation can be critical where the connector allows for either, but may be it is and I've done some damage, but I doubt it

I have a generic OBDII reader, but haven't had a chance to connect it yet

I removed the seat in order to use the extra loading space, so the car was driven without the air bag connected

    Any suggestions?

I think the answer is here

    https://www.evilution.co.uk/816

So I now have to pay to enable a safety feature - Nice

Any suggestions about how to get this done cheaply?

    Does your car have OBD?

You could always buy one of these .... https://www.amazon.co.uk/iCarsoft-i9...67719404&psc=1
Then you can reset the airbag & have a code reader for future use.

105 sounds tempting relative to 60 for a single reset by an indy

I would be gutted though if it couldn't do the airbag reset - any chance it might not be able to?

It reset the airbag/SRS on my R Class when the seat was removed to access the battery so if it's to reset the airbag on your car after similar I can't think why not.

PS the link I posted was the first one I found so they might be cheaper elsewhere ..

So changing the battery in an R Class becomes a main dealer job?

Wow - everything makes me feel so naive these days...

I have asked the seller of this item if it will do the airbag reset on my 450

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233620605407

86 now becomes much more attractive than 60, especially since I could probably sell it on if I were short of cash

I think by then it would be licenced for use with Smart cars only, so perhaps it would take a while to shift

The battery is under the driver's seat (as it is on my ML now). Removal of the seat just made it far easier to get to the battery to remove it, though some say it's possible to remove the battery with the seat just tipped completely forward. :-)

Delphi - on an old lap top with an OBD/USB interface and the cloned software from China for circa 35?
Pretty sure the Delphi will do air bags. Tolsen knows Delphi well (and a few others here too). The interface will take a few weeks to arrive though.
