I think about the same as how long is a piece of string!
When I hurt my back, my car didn't move for 6 weeks. Alternator was OK, but the rear brakes seized on.
Not really a problem just have to be a bit brutal with the accelerator!

My smart has been laid up outside since March last year. Alternator was fine in the autumn last year. Spring time this year it isn't.
