    Question Alternator Seize Prevention Suggesitons

Any suggestions for a car that may get left unused for a while?

How quickly can an alternator seize in normal outdoor conditions - i.e. not beside the sea?

I think about the same as how long is a piece of string!
When I hurt my back, my car didn't move for 6 weeks. Alternator was OK, but the rear brakes seized on.
Not really a problem just have to be a bit brutal with the accelerator!

My smart has been laid up outside since March last year. Alternator was fine in the autumn last year. Spring time this year it isn't.
