Oh yes.. this happened to me. They replaced the control unit and it didn't really do anything.. had to have a new steering rack fitted at the eye-watering price of £800!![]()
The symptoms were pretty similar - when the steering was under load then it would shut down.. especially steering and braking, manoeuvring on gravel and then ultimately just going from lock-to-lock. The failure is progressive, so it seems to happen more and more.
Is it possible to fit a different steering wheel (e.g. Momo etc.) onto a Roadster?
I have a similar problem on a roadster
Basecly from time to time when i steer right it feels like i dont have power steering but in the meenwhyle if i steer to the left it steers smooth and easy exacley as i have power steering.
Another thing if i release the steering wheel when this happens it steers to the left as i would have a flat tyre front left.
It does not dooing all the time i notice aometimes is ok does not pull left at all.
Notice when i push the breake it comes back to normal
This forum barely has any roadster owners left.
You should get yourself registered on www.theroadster.net and ask this question on there.

Same thing can happen if you have a sticking brake cylinder on the front left hand wheel.
