    Thumbs up

Thanks for your replies, and apologies for my typo faux-pas regarding the model - that's hasty typing for you. Have corrected it now.

It seems S2Smarts is the place to go - it's quite a shlep for me but I hadn't realised that this is the place my step-dad in very North London gets his Smart serviced at and he rates them highly, so a visit to my mum's would facilitate getting mine serviced, nicely. And I get cake too.

As for the Parrot tablet thing, I suppose anywhere that installs audio/satnav devices in cars would be able to for this, and they don't have to be a Smart specialist....

I really love it when people put London, and a post code!!!
I'd have to travel 350 miles (about 8-10 hours each way) for me to get to a Smart "specialist"...., and you want someone close to SE10
    Wow, where do you live?!

I'm not demanding someone in London SE10 does it - I'd have just thought that being in London, there'd be a higher chance of there being somewhere not a million miles away who can service Smart cars well.

If I was living in the stix, then yes, I'd expect to have to travel quite a way!

    Thanks anyway......

I have been there for many things and he is always very good at answering any questions you may have
It not that far to go either which is brilliant bout 35 mins from west London

It's a common misconception that towns & cities are littered with smart specialists - they're not.

    There is 1 in Scotland, 1 in the lakes, 1 in Manchester, 1 in Yorkshire/Humberside, 2 in East Mids/Lincolnshire, 1 in Cambridgeshire/East Anglia, 2 in North/West London, 1 in Surrey & 1 in Somerset.

There are a number of other specialists about (Birmingham, Kent, Southampton etc.) but these are not companies I would personally recommend.

I never asked for a "specialist" - I only asked if anyone knew of a place that can service Smarts because I understand that some garages won't touch them!

    Wow.

You need a specialist to service a smart. Other garages will happily service them, use the wrong oil, change half the spark plugs, wreck the HT leads, misdiagnose any fault codes & give you a whole host of issues & premature engine failure.

    Hi Matty,

Think this is being made a bit more dramatic that it needs be.

Short answer, go to S2Smarts, you will be glad when you do and won't question the journey afterwards

Long answer, you can go anywhere but as many will tell you, smart have some peculiar quirks that not all garages will be aware of, so better go to a specialist who understands the car, will not make general assumptions or worse break something! Oh and also, most specialists benefit from economies of scale and so often work out more reasonable finally, because they know what they're doing you should hopefully enjoy better health from your car, again saving you money!

I say again, go to S2Smarts

Thanks everyone - looks like S2Smarts it is then!

I understand what you mean about a specialist - I didn't realise Smarts were so quirky and need someone really experienced with them to maintain them properly!

As for fitting the Parrot tablet thing - it seems anywhere decent who fit car audio and the like could do this then? - not necessary that they know Smarts inside out? That'd be a great help.

    Thanks again everyone!
